Inspiration on the daily walk can be found anywhere… I carry my phone and take photos of anything that catches my eye. It is interesting how there is something different that interests me every day.
When I sit down to plan a large project like the Striped Blanket, I’m usually inspired by something I’ve seen or seen, although I don’t always remember where I’ve seen it.
You can’t help but absorb influences as you go about your daily life, whether it’s a colour scheme in an Interiors magazine, the sunrise over Belfast Lough or bright green freshly made wild garlic pesto sauce.
Sunshine glints through the newly unfurled deep red Acer Palmatum leaves, ivy slowly creeping across a brick wall, or pink cherry blossoms like a million pink frilly tutus against the blue sky.
Morning light glints through the obscured glass front door, peeling paint on an old gate, an empty arterial road… inspirations are all around us even when we stay safe at home and only go for a daily walk.
What interests you while you go for the same walk every day?

I have found a tree that has a low branch that I use to stretch my upper shoulders with. I can’t remember the name of. I have taken photos of it at different times of the seasons. It comforts me in some strange way! Happy walking;)
