This is the seventh of the “Travels Down Memory Lane Series”. Over the last couple of years, there hasn’t been an opportunity for holidays away. So I decided to look at some of the posts I’d planned to write, and for various reasons, I hadn’t.
Nothing is as much fun as walking down memory lane and revisiting and sharing the photographs and journals from our travels.
After a delicious lunch in Cahirsiveen, our next stop was Ballycarbery Castle.
A ruin that you could climb to the 2nd level and explore.
As we walked around, it reminded me of Cair Paravel from the Narnia series by CS Lewis.
Ballycarbery Castle was an old castle dating back to 1398, but most of what remained was from 1550…
Neil was able to photograph the Chough nest! I was impressed, and seeing the choughs flying in and out from their nest was beautiful.
We sat on a rock and waited patiently, and then we were rewarded by seeing the parents feeding their chicks!

What a wonderful adventure, it is so nice to see people getting out and enjoying life. Having lost my husband last year to cancer, I can be the first to attest to the fact that life is short and we should live each day to the fullest. So glad to see that you are. I am hoping that I will soon be able to do a bit of travel, but it will have to be on a tour because I certainly would not be brave enough to do it alone. Have a great day
